Look At The White Space…Be A Student of Your Calendar

It’s funny that the title of this blog is "Look At The White Space...Be A Student of Your Calendar". Even after I planned my writing session for today, I still found myself doing other things before I started.  One of those things was listening to one of my favorite Podcast “The Model Health Show.” Todays' guest was David Meltzer. There were so many nuggets in this episode (#316) I urge you all to listen. One of the many things that popped out was when David talked about the white space on the calendar and the things he lives by.

Building Your Life Resume…Passion For The Process

The other day, I was listening to one of my favorite Podcast “The Model Health Show” by Shawn Stevenson. He had a guest on by the name of Jesse Itzler and they were talking about building your life resume. There were a lot of other great nuggets, but this was one of the things that stood out to me. During the podcast, Jesse made a statement saying that as people we often spend time building our career resumes, but we really don’t spend time building our life resume.

Community…Your Surroundings Plays Apart In Who You Are and Who You Will Be!

We all have heard the saying “It Takes A Village”. This statement means many different things to me. It takes a village, says that there are multiple people involved in assisting in grooming you and watching you during the years of your maturing. The interesting thing about our village is that over the years it changes. As you get older, you get to choose your village. Your village turns into your community. The beautiful thing about your community is that it’s a reflection of you.

Taking A Hiatus…Where Does The Time Go?

I started my journey of blogging in January 2016. My last entry for the year was December 2016. I'm laughing on the inside, because I was supposed to take a little break and get started back up no later than July 2017. As I look through my notes the last blog I wrote was actually in August 2017, but I never posted it. Why is the question I ask myself? Although blogging required me to make time for myself and writing, I had grown to like it. However, I wanted to do something a little different.

Nostalgia Is An Illusion: So Why Do We Live In The Past?

I listened to a great sermon this past weekend. One of the statements that were made was that nostalgia is an illusion. Meaning that some times when we think about what was, we get caught up on the “highlights” of that particular event during a certain time in our life. When we are looking at the past, we only see the “highlight” reel. We forget about the bad stuff and only focus on the good stuff. For instance if you were in a bad relationship and some time has passed and you start thinking about that relationship some how you forget the reason why you left it.

Social Anxiety: Is It Real Or In Your Head?

In 2009 I had the opportunity to line produce and act in the film “Hey Diddle Diddle”, which that dealt with a character name Maxwell Sweetwater who had social anxiety disorder. The Freedom In Pivoting: Rerouting Doesn't Mean Quitting!

I’m not quite sure where I first heard the term “Pivoting”, but I like it. I know on the “Great Girlfriends” pod cast, they use this word “Pivoting” often. When I heard them use it, it was in the context of making changes in a career. They don’t know, but this word added so much freedom in my thinking about career changes or rerouting, it gave me flexibility in my head.
